Art - ish
I abhor the term “arts and crafts” - the implication that something made of less costly materials can’t be fine art and that something that doesn’t provide extreme utility requires no craftsmanship.
There’s no arts and crafts here but there is Art - ish. It’s what I make to feel things, what I make so others can see themselves, what I make when inspiration takes over.
paint carving-ish
30-60 layers of paint in varying colors serves as the canvas for these pieces. After a curing these layers are carved into at varying depths to exposes the range of colors as the design emerges.
This style of work is usually done on wooden backers, skateboards, etc. I would love to do a series of the same image on a skateboard, snowboard and surfboard.
foam & resin-ish
Born from work in construction, foam board serves as the canvas for these pieces. The lightweight substrate can be manipulated into so many shapes and textures, and works great to dampen sound as well.
Mixing and exploring techniques like embroidery and crochet in with the foam backer has piqued my curiosity.

Sometimes a single piece just isn’t big enough. Set the tone for your space with something more expansive.

Paintings and customization are where it started. As a sneakerhead, it was easier to create the dream shoe than pray the shoe gods dropped a pair that felt perfect. While canvases can be fun, I’d rather branch out to objects such as kindle cases, passport covers, even vintage saw blades to give things a second life or make it feel perfect for you.
digital & Print-ish
Covid drove lots of us to explore Procreate and was a gateway back into creating. Several of these digital drawings inspired me to create them in a physical form like foam or paint carving.
Digital art and prints offer an affordable option for art to be shared.
